When I joined, I did a lot of work with the existing documents and requirements to schedule what activities need to be done by whom and when, with duty and standby and timetables and timeframes. I’d drill into all the requirement documents and then diligently set up a framework for making sure that we are as compliant as we can be. And that was quite difficult. It probably took me a few weeks. The timeline tool that Nomio has developed effectively uses the approach that I took a long time to establish and set up.
And I can just take it off the Nomio tree and use it, which is great. It helps identify and ascribe dates to particular activities where, when you’re looking at a document, it cross-references to other places which you may not have to hand, or have the time or inclination or ability to find. The Nomio dilligence exercise pulls that all together, cross-references it, and then presents it in a way that’s user friendly.
You’ve got a robust and pretty comprehensive schedule of all the deliverables and the timeframes and the owners and responsibilities, so that people could use it without having to refer to me, and they could populate their actions and tasks. And I could run through that with them monthly. Another thing I like about Nomio is that I can share it with a contractor, and I can limit their view of the project agreement to the documents that set out their roles and responsibilities.
I have used other compliance systems and the Nomio system, for me, is much better. The other system was super clunky because there were multiple routes to the same location. I mean, we also use Nomio for interrogating the project agreement. On a day-to-day basis, a number of the team will go: ‘I wonder what the contract says about this and what the contract says about that.’ In the past, I’ve just used a ginormous PDF and searched.
The AI interface is very helpful. It’s satnav for project agreement documents. It’s nuts and bolts-y, and I think that’s a strength, actually. You click on something and it takes you to what it says it’s going to take you to, and shows you how to do it in a way that you can reasonably expect. My experience with Nomio has been very positive, very engaging, pleasant, polite, proactive. I need people to be able to give me realistic timeframes, no puff.
